About this worksheet

Number patterns here add or subtract the same amount each time (counting by 2s, 5s, 10s or backwards by 3s). Shape patterns repeat a unit such as AB or ABB, and naming that unit is the real skill.

Teaching tip

Ask students to say the rule out loud ("add 4 each time") before they write the answer.
